| On November 21, 1964, the Verrazano-Narrows double-decked suspension bridge (connecting Staten Island and Brooklyn) opened in New York. Begun in 1959, the bridge cost $320 million to construct, and was the world's longest suspension bridge until 1981. Currently (2007) the seventh longest in the world, it remains the United States record-holder. | |

Mr. Majcher of Bryant Road calls re: his boy riding home from school on his bicycle on Rte. 62 was accoseted by a man in his car who rode right along beside the boy for a long way until he saw the boys mother waiting for him on Broad St. She failed to get the registration number. |

| Call from hospital re: gunshot wound. Mr. John Carlson 22 yrs. old of Central St. W. Boylston was hunting in woods in Hubbardston with a 22 cal. revolver which dropped on the ground, and is now confined to the hospital. Called Chief of Police at Hubbardston and I called Game Warden Winslow. Charlie was not at home but Everett Maynard said that he would give him the message. | |

Out to Shrewsbury St. to check traffic at corner of Birchwood Drive. and re: busses and etc. I was there till 8.40 a.m. 7 from Mt. View Drive and 22 came out from Birchwood to go to school. Motorist can see the mail box at the corner from a point 400 geet down the road. I checked the school busses coming down past Birchwood Drive. No. 12 had 16 vacant seats. No. 9 and 16 were full. Bus driven by Smith was full and No. 17 was full. I told Mrs. Zwick who called me later in the day that in my opinion a crossing guard was not cecssary but I did feel that the sidewalk directly across should be fixed up. Told her if not satisfied to contact the Town Manager. Also suggested that she try an get some woman crossing guard possibilities to line up for future developments. Will call me later. |

Bobby Ericksons nephew in re: holding a party at his home and some boys crashed the party and are bring back some liquor. I had No. 1 locate Bobby Erickson and he came to the office at 9 a.m. and I suggested that he go home and break up the party immediately and if any trouble to call me. He said that Al Belisle was with him and they would send the boys home at once. |

Carl Hosnander in re: motor violation. His explanation was that the car was at he home of Corey Smith on Malden St. and at about 6.15 p.m. he and Corey Smit pushed it out of the Smith yard and steered it down Malden St. around the corner and down Bullard St. where it finally stopped. There was no engine in the car and the battery was out so there were no lights and it was dark at the time. He left the vehicle on Bullard St. all night without lights. He said that he was aware of the law that prohibits one from operating without lights and leaving a vehicle side of the road without lights after dark. I will send in a ticket on this case. |

Mrs. Luhta of Parker Ave. calls re: larceny last night between 6 and 8 p.m. of an old fashioned wood wagon wheel at the side of her sidewalk by three big boys in a blue, two tone Dodge, that was seen by a neighbor. Did not call us. |

David Eagan of 35 Western Ave. W. Boylston whose father is a special officer in that town in re: last Friday night while on Reservoir St. by Avery Heights Drive flashed accidentally his spot light into a car and the operator came back and claimed that he was an officer. Had a blue light inside of car by windshield. Eagan asked to see a badge and would not show same but said that he was an officer in Holden. Eagan did not get the registration number of the car. It was a 1956 Chev. Beach Wagon. |

Ed LeMay of Wachusett St. in re: his son missing since Sept. 5th d.o.b. 11-5-43. He left on that date with one Frances Hatstat, 17 yrs.old of Bellevue St. Wor. This girl did live with her father Robert Hatstat of Rutland and when school closed went back to live with the mother in June. The mother is undergoing psychiatric treatment. LeMaysays that the mohterh reported the case to the Worcester Police Dept. Two streets up from Park Ave. and the 4th house on the left. LeMays daughter Mrs. Gary Foster (Patricia) lives at 1417 So. Cedar St. Santa Anna California and she is 23 years old. Ed. refused to get a complaint against the boy for being Stubborn Child. |
