In the spirit of community, the Holden Police Department thought it would be a good idea to enlist the artistic talents of some of our younger residents to create a unique holiday greeting card for us. Each year, we ask the 4th grade at a different school to help us out.

For our 1st Annual Card Contest in 2005, we invited the 4th graders at Davis Hill Elementary School to design for us, followed by Mayo School in 2006, and Dawson in 2007. This year, we once again enlisted the 4th Grade at Davis Hill Elementary School to put their imaginations to work combining seasonal and police themes.

Their enthusiasm and creativity have amazed us. Our panel of judges (comprised of Town of Holden employees and local business people) had the unenviable task of choosing just one design they feel would make a wonderful card for the Police Department to send out this year. Everyone has dozens of favorites.

Our winner this year is
Emma, age 9, a student in Mrs. Canan's class at Davis Hill School .
Her winning design is the final frame in our slide show gallery. Enjoy all of the entries by clicking the button below.
Happy Holidays and Congratulations, Emma!
Special thanks to art teacher Jenifer Wornham and the administration at Davis Hill School,
and to Bev and Brianne at the Gale Free Library Children's Room.
