Main Street Closure
Friday, 8/19/2011 thru the weekend

Main Street (Route 122A) will be closed at Adams Road from Friday 8/19 at 7 AM until Monday 8/22 for railroad bridge replacement. Motorists should expect detours and delays. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Newell Road to Salisbury Street and back to Main Street.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this project.

 
Please note that the DPW chipping event on Adams Road will still be held on Saturday 8/20 from 8AM - 2:30 PM.
 
Highland Street Closure
Wednesday, 7/27/2011
Highland Street, from Nola Drive to Wachusett Street, will be closed to thru traffic from approximately 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27th for culvert replacement. Motorists should expect detours and delays. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
 
Malden Street Closure
Tuesday, 7/19/2011
Malden Street, between Chapel Street and Bullard Street, will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Tuesday, July 19 for paving (weather permitting). Police details will be available to assist with traffic. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
 
Water Main Break - Highland Street Closure
Update 6/22/2011
A portion of Highland Street will be closed again today to resurface the area affected by yesterday's water main break. Traffic will once again be detoured around the area. Please seek an alternate route. Please remember that detours are through residential neighborhoods with children and pedestrians; drive slowly and carefully. Partial Main Street Closure
6/17/2011
Due to the Fireman's Muster on Sunday, 6/17, part of Main Street will be closed from approximately 10:30 AM until approximately 3:30 PM. The affected area is between Bancroft Road and Holt Road. Drivers will be detoured via Boyden Road in both directions. Police detail officers will assist with traffic. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. 
 
Malden Street Closure
6/15/2011
Malden Street, between Chapel and Bullard Streets, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 15 for culvert repair work. Residents who live on Malden Street will be able to access their homes. The street, however, will be closed to all other motorists. Drivers should expect detours. Police detail officers will assist with traffic.
 
QUINAPOXET STREET REOPENED Thank you for your patience.
Quinapoxet Street Closure
4/6/2011
Quinapoxet Street will be closed to through traffic, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, due to a drainage pipe failure in the area of Windsor Circle. The repair is located in the middle of the road, making it necessary to close the road. Quinapoxet Street will be closed from Princeton Street to Route 31 (Wachusett Street). Detail police officers will be located on both ends for questions. Motorists should seek alternative travel routes. Quinapoxet Street will be open to school buses and local traffic, only.The closure is planned for Wednesday, but unforeseen circumstances might result in extending it into Thursday and Friday. Bullard Street Closure

Bullard Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, November 2 for a drainage repair.
 
Reservoir Street Detour
Effective August 30, 2010
Beginning Monday 8/30, traffic will be detoured off of Reservoir Street (Route 31) between Avery Road and Greystone Drive. Expect delays while these detours are in use, which is expected to be between 7 AM and 4 PM both days. Access to the Holden Car Wash and the Big Y Plaza from Holden Center (southbound) will be open without detour..

Please drive carefully and patiently through the construction area, and stay alert for police officer traffic control. Thank you.

Reservoir Street (Route 31) Construction
Effective June 21, 2010
(note: date change)

Effective Monday, June 21st, Reservoir Street (Route 31) south of the center intersection will be decreased to one lane of traffic. The area affected will be from Village Repair to the vicinity of Greystone Drive. This project is expected to be in effect weekdays from 7AM until 3PM for approximately 2 months.

Updates will be posted here as they become available.

Please plan your commute and errands accordingly and drive cautiously and patiently through the construction zone. Thank you.

 
Princeton Street Closure
Effective 4/3/10 thru undetermined date

Effective immediately, Princeton Street is closed at the Post Office, just north of the Quinapoxet Street/Mt Pleasant Avenue crossroads. The closure is due to bridge repair and will remain in effect for an undetermined amount of time.

Traveling north on Princeton Street from Main Street, Quinapoxet Street (on the right) leads to Wachusett Street (Route 31) and Mt Pleasant Avenue (on the left) leads back out to Main Street further north (at Holden Hills Golf Course).

Traveling south on Princeton Street from Princeton, outlets are Elmwood Avenue, which leads to Wachusett Street (Route 31) and Whitney Street (turns into Bryant Road), which leads to Route 68.

 
Both Elmwood Avenue and Whitney Street/Bryant Road are narrow, rural roads. Please use extreme caution and courtesy when using these streets. Drive slowly and carefully as there are many blind driveways, etc. Thank you.
